Open Competitions – Changes to Players Link Feature

I have amended the Players Link feature so that you can now link to an Excel spreadsheet as well as an Access database. I have also added the option to include the players’ CDH lifetime ID’s as well as their names and clubs.

This means that you will be able to link to your own database/spreadsheet of player information that will be in the format that you are happy with (for example upper/lower case and whether the forename or surname comes first). Once you have created the link you will find in the Start Sheet there is a drop down list associated with the players’ name. If you select a player from the list their club and CDH ID will automatically be populated (although the CDH ID’s are only visible in the singles start sheet).

The advantage of having the CDH ID for all competition types is that you can then use the facility to get the players’ current handicaps from the CDH just before the competition starts which should save time when players are signing in.
